THE Australian Baseball League playoff picture is set after 10 weeks of action.

For a trio of teams it is season over, but for Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane the ultimate prize is up for grabs.

The Bite and Bandits were the last sides to clinch postseason action, but they are also the most in-form ahead of their best-of-three ABL Preliminary Final Series this weekend.

The Aces await the winner.

What we learned from week nine

THE Australian Baseball League playoff picture remains as complicated as ever after Brisbane swept Perth and Canberra managed just a split at Sydney.

In Melbourne, Adelaide stifled the Aces’ attempt to clinch top spot and a home ABL Championship Series.

With one week and 12 games – 13 if the Brisbane and Sydney make-up game is required –left there is plenty to play for.

What we learned from week eight

 

MELBOURNE proved too strong for Canberra again while Adelaide picked up a crucial series win over Adelaide.

Brisbane took two of three against Sydney but lost game four through rain with its fate to be decided by the ABL.

What we learned from week seven

THERE are three rounds left before the Australian Baseball League playoffs and apart from Melbourne’s stranglehold on top spot the postseason picture is no clearer.

On the weekend Perth notched its first series win to give it hope and Adelaide and Brisbane crashed to series losses as they failed to create a buffer on the lower-ranked teams.
